Exchange and Return Policy
At JayEx Store, customer satisfaction remains one of our highest priorities, and we aim to ensure that every customer receives products that meet their expectations in quality and functionality. In accordance with Section 22 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”), all customers have the right to receive goods in good condition and of acceptable quality. Customers who receive an incorrect item, defective item, or damaged product may request an exchange subject to the conditions stated in this policy.
Customers may request an exchange within seven calendar days from the date of delivery. The item must be returned unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging together with proof of purchase. JayEx Store reserves the right to inspect the product before approving an exchange request to ensure that the item has not been misused, physically damaged, or altered after delivery.
Products that are custom-made, intimate wear, hygiene-sensitive goods, opened software, downloadable digital products, or clearance items may not qualify for exchange unless the product is defective or incorrectly supplied. This condition complies with Section 16 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”), which regulates online consumer transactions and exceptions to cooling-off rights.
Where an exchange is approved, customers may exchange the product for another item of equal value, or they may pay the difference for a higher-value item. If the exchanged item costs less than the original purchase, JayEx Store may issue store credit at its discretion. Refunds will only be processed where legally required under South African consumer legislation.
The customer shall remain responsible for ensuring that returned items are securely packaged before shipment to avoid additional damage during transportation. JayEx Store reserves the right to refuse exchanges where the returned item arrives damaged due to poor packaging by the customer.
In accordance with Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, customers are entitled to protection against defective products that fail to meet ordinary standards of durability and performance. If a product is found to be defective within the legally protected period, JayEx Store will repair, replace, or refund the item depending on the circumstances and stock availability.
Exchange requests may take between three and seven business days to process after the returned item has been received and inspected. Customers will receive communication regarding the status of their request through the contact details provided during checkout.
JayEx Store reserves the right to request reasonable evidence, including photographs, serial numbers, or videos, where fraud prevention or product verification is necessary. This procedure is intended to protect both customers and the business from unlawful or fraudulent transactions.
Customers are encouraged to inspect all parcels immediately upon delivery and report any issue as soon as possible. Failure to notify JayEx Store within the required seven-day exchange period may result in the exchange request being declined unless otherwise required by law.
This policy shall be interpreted in line with the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, particularly Section 22 relating to lawful trade and Section 34 regarding access to fair legal processes. JayEx Store remains committed to operating transparently, fairly, and lawfully in all customer transactions.
Warranty Policy
JayEx Store provides warranties on selected electronic devices and accessories in accordance with South African consumer protection legislation. The purpose of this warranty is to assure customers that products sold by JayEx Store are reasonably durable, functional, and suitable for their intended use under normal conditions.
Second-hand or pre-owned electronic devices and accessories sold by JayEx Store include a limited warranty period of nine months from the original date of purchase. This warranty covers verified manufacturing faults, hardware defects, or functional failures that occur under normal use conditions.
Brand-new electronic devices and accessories sold by JayEx Store include a warranty period of twelve months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer. Customers are entitled to receive repair services, replacement products, or technical assistance where qualifying defects occur during the warranty period.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by water exposure, physical abuse, accidental drops, unauthorized repairs, software tampering, electrical surges, misuse, negligence, or normal wear and tear. Products showing signs of intentional damage may immediately void the warranty coverage.
Customers must provide valid proof of purchase before any warranty claim can be processed. JayEx Store reserves the right to inspect the product thoroughly to determine whether the defect falls within the warranty conditions and whether the claim is valid under the CPA.
Under Section 55 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, consumers have the right to receive goods that are safe, durable, and reasonably suitable for their intended purpose. JayEx Store acknowledges these rights and undertakes to process legitimate warranty claims fairly and within a reasonable timeframe.
Where repairs are possible, JayEx Store may choose to repair the defective product before considering replacement or refund options. If repairs are unsuccessful or economically unreasonable, the company may provide a replacement device of similar condition and specifications.
Warranty processing times may vary depending on the nature of the fault, availability of replacement parts, supplier response times, and technical assessments. Customers will be kept reasonably informed throughout the warranty assessment process.
Accessories including chargers, earphones, cables, adapters, and wearable items may carry limited warranty terms depending on supplier conditions and intended usage. Customers are encouraged to review product-specific warranty details before completing a purchase.
This warranty policy operates in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, the Consumer Protection Act, and all applicable commercial legislation governing electronic commerce and consumer rights within South Africa.
Shipping and Delivery Policy
JayEx Store provides delivery services across South Africa through trusted courier and logistics partners. Delivery timelines may vary depending on customer location, stock availability, public holidays, weather conditions, and operational delays beyond the company’s reasonable control.
Orders are processed after payment confirmation has been successfully received. Customers will receive confirmation notifications once orders are packed and dispatched for delivery. Estimated delivery times are provided as guidelines and do not constitute legally binding guarantees.
Customers must ensure that delivery addresses and contact details are accurate before completing purchases. JayEx Store shall not be held liable for delays or losses resulting from incorrect delivery information supplied by customers during checkout.
Risk in the goods shall pass to the customer upon successful delivery to the provided address. Customers are encouraged to inspect parcels immediately upon receipt and report any visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies as soon as reasonably possible.
JayEx Store reserves the right to delay or cancel deliveries where fraudulent activity, payment disputes, or verification concerns are identified. These measures are implemented to protect both customers and the company against unlawful transactions.
Delivery fees, where applicable, will be displayed during checkout before payment confirmation. Promotional free shipping campaigns may be subject to minimum order requirements and limited-time conditions determined by JayEx Store.
In accordance with Section 19 of the Consumer Protection Act, suppliers remain responsible for ensuring that products are delivered in good condition and within a reasonable period unless otherwise agreed with the customer.
Customers who fail to accept delivery after reasonable courier attempts may be liable for additional redelivery charges or storage costs. JayEx Store reserves the right to cancel orders that remain undeliverable after multiple attempts.
External courier providers operate independently, and while JayEx Store will reasonably assist customers with delivery-related issues, certain delays or operational failures may fall outside the company’s direct control.
This shipping policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa and interpreted consistently with applicable consumer protection legislation and constitutional principles of fairness and lawful commercial practice.
